Carers Active April is Carers UK's campaign month supporting unpaid carers to be physically active, and raising awareness of the benefits of physical activity for carers and the barriers they may face.
The campaign raises awareness about the importance of physical activity and provide lots of opportunities for carers to be active. You’ll be supported and encouraged to take part in any activity that works for you, whether that's walking, jogging, yoga or simple exercises around your home and garden.

The more I studied Pilates the greater the benefits I could see for carers. Carers have so much on their mind that it’s important they take time out for themselves to improve general fitness and overall well-being.

I'm a walking leader for Carers First. I tailor the walk to the carers’ abilities and it always includes a stop-off at a local cafe. I’d really recommend becoming a walk leader - anyone can do it, you just need some sense of direction and it helps to be a sociable kind of person
Our Care2Relax sessions enable you to keep active through Pilates, mindfulness and relaxation. This is a peer led support group offering 45 minutes of standing and seated Pilates, with our volunteer instructor, Marisa. You can join in or simply watch previous sessions on Youtube.
Whether you're a carer in need of support or you're a professional concerned about somebody, you can refer through our local services.
