I am going to attempt to amalgamate your introduction posts into one..wish me luck!
Saying Hello....

Hi everyone.

My name is Richard and like many people i have a carer role as i look after my wife Carol and her nurological conditons. It is not easy at times being a carer. But we are all do it out of love and kindness and because we care. I have also suffered mental health issues myself.

This forum will be great. Lonliness is a issue being a carer as well. We can get caught up in everyday caring needs and forget about ourselves at times and we can feel isolated if we do not actively do something for ourselves. But this is not always easy to do.

I look forward to using this forum for great idea’s, help and support. I will also give back as much as i can to help others as we all need help at times.

Take care friends.

Richard

Hi everyone
I have just registered here. My hubby and I care for his 87 year old parents at home. We live with them.
Mum has Alzheimers stage 5ish and Dad is in heart failure and we think he has the start of Dementia too.
I may not post or get on here much however that is because things are pretty full on! It may even be 3am in the morning! :)
Just wanted to say Hi :)

Hello...I'm Annie.

I have been caring for my husband who has bouts of severe depression and anxiety with psychotic features. The last 5 months have been very difficult as he doesn't respond to drugs and there isn't much help out there. We became very isolated as he couldn't face anyone other than me and I was reduced to whispering on the phone to friends because he worried about what I was saying about him. Luckily he's now coming out of it but it has left us both physically and emotionally exhausted and I worry about it happening again as he has been told it probably will. At least this forum will be available if/when it happens again and, hopefully, it will help me cope better next time. Carers definitely need help too if they are to hold things together for the sufferer.

Hi
I have just joined and would like to introduce myself. I am Kim and I care full time for my husband who has brain cancer. He was diagnosed in January 2017 and since then has had 3 operations and radiotherapy and several different types of chemotherapy. He is very fatigued all the time and needs help in everyday tasks. He is still mobile but it is a struggle. We used to love travelling and my husband used to love driving - our lives are very different now. I do not drive so we have no car. It is isolating although we do have a small family who support us.
