A CHRISTMAS POEM

DECK THE HALLS WITH BOUGHS OF HOLLY
THEY SAY IT’S THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY
I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S SO FANTASTIC
IT’ WILL ALL BE PAID FOR ON MY PLASTIC.

DECK THE HALLS WITH DECORATIONS
HERE COME ALL OUR POOR RELATIONS`
LIKE LAST YEAR THEY’LL OVERSTAY
THEY’LL STILL BE HERE ON BOXING DAY

DECK THE HALLS WITH TINSEL PRETTY
GRANDMA’S WITH THEM THAT’S A PITY
SHE GETS WIND AND WHAT A GAME
AS WE PRETEND THE DOGS TO BLAME

DECK THE HALL WITH PLASTIC SNOW
JIMMY’S ATE TO MUCH YOU KNOW
AUNT ETHEL THE BUCKET QUICK
ALL TOO LATE LITTLE JIM’S BEEN SICK

DECK THE HALLS WITH FAIRY LIGHTS
DAD’S ARRIVED AND HE’S HALF TIGHT
UNTUNEFULLY HE’LL SING A SONG
AND BE ASLEEP WHEN THE QUEEN COMES ON

SO EAT AND DRINK AND ALL BE MERRY
JUST KEEP GRANDMA OFF THE SHERRY
ENJOY THE OCCASION AND BE OF GOOD CHEER
YOU’D HAVE PAID THE CARD OFF BEFORE NEXT YEAR
