Young and young adult carers have faced increased pressures during the pandemic. Many are caring for longer while struggling to keep up with education, work and time for themselves. Many young carers have seen their mental health worsen while feeling less connected to others (Carers Trust, 2020).
We have several projects working with young and young adult carers providing positive activities and giving them a much-needed break from caring.
Your donations help fund our team of Young Carer Support Advisers providing 1-2-1 support, attending school and professional meetings and running peer support groups.
We also help secure grants for young carers to pay for items including school uniforms, laptops and driving lessons.
Your donations also help us provide activity programmes throughout the year giving young carers a break as well as new experiences. In Summer 2021, 153 young carers took part in our summer activity programme ranging from trips to the Zoo, Theatre, Laser Tag and Trampoline Park.

It was just an amazing time out and I was able to meet some friends I haven’t seen since before the first lockdown. I cannot thank you all enough, it will be something I will remember forever.
