Carers First Operations Manager for Essex and London, Lisa Saunders, appeared on the Thursday 1 August 2024 morning BBC Radio Essex show discussing carers.

BBC Radio Essex had carers speaking about their own experiences of what caring is and how it impacts their lives and invited Carers First on, to discuss the support we offer to carers in Essex and recent survey results.

One carer said: “You ask any carer and they will put everyone before their needs.”

In response to hearing how carers are feeling, Lisa said:

"Services like Carers First support carers. It doesn't make everything go away, but it certainly helps and makes it so carers are not feeling so isolated and alone and that they know there are other people in similar situations and they can get peer support. By coming to Carers First, talking to other carers, talking to our staff, unpaid carers can learn about what's out there to support them."
