Men Do More Morrisons Grant
Published
01/10/21

Carers First are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant from The Morrisons Foundation to help grow our Men Do More project.

Our Men Do programme is a real success story helping to tackle social isolation and loneliness amongst male carers aged 50+. Male carers have taken part in a range of events and activities from wood whittling, falconry and foot golf. There was a concern the project would be hampered by lockdowns however we supported male carers with digital training so they could stay in touch during tightening of restrictions.

A member of the Men Do More prgramme said, “I find the men's group very helpful. The thing I miss most about work is the chat we had during lunch. It is also good to hear from other men in a similar situation as myself and I look forward to every meeting.”

Hannah Key and Sheena Goodey, leads on the Men Do More programme said, 'We are pleased to share that the fantastic Men DO project will continue for another year thanks to funding from Morrisons. The project was designed to help combat isolation for men over 50 living in East Lindsey, and has had huge successes so we are thrilled to be able to continue this offer for a further year.'
