Carers First is delighted to join 78 organisations in signing Carers Uk’s open letter to the Chancellor, calling for enhanced financial support for unpaid carers who are facing a cost of living crisis.
Unpaid carers often face additional and significant costs associated with caring, and many face financial hardship as a consequence of their caring responsibilities.
With the cost of living spiralling, many carers are being forced to choose between heating and eating. Without support, many carers will reach breaking point and no longer be able to care.
The savings carers make to the Government far outweigh the costs of this additional support. Carers have done so much for others in the past two years and it is only right that we support them now.
