A team of staff and volunteers from Carers First were delighted to attend Lincoln City Football Club’s LNER stadium for their final game of the season to help raise money and awareness for unpaid carers.

Carers First were voted to be one of Lincoln City F.C.’s charity partners for 2022 following a public vote earlier in the year. As part of this partnership, Carers First were invited to attend a match day and collect donations from supporters.

Following generous donations from those attending the match, we are thrilled to announce we raised £770.87. These funds will help support activities for carers in Lincolnshire to get a much needed break from their caring role.

It’s estimated there are 79,000 people in Lincolnshire providing care for a relative or friend. We believe every one of those people deserves the support necessary to thrive in their role.

Carers First has been supporting carers in Lincolnshire for the last five years, with a dedicated team based in the local communities, providing information, advice and practical help for unpaid carers across the county.

Andy Watts, Director Income and Communications at Carers First, said:

“We are so pleased to have this opportunity with Lincoln City Football Club. The support of such a well-loved and renowned team will help make a massive difference to raising awareness and vital funds for the work we do to support unpaid carers.”

Thank you to our volunteers who helped to fundraise on the day, this wouldn’t have been possible without you. And, of course, a huge thank you to everyone who donated.
