A small group of young people in Lincolnshire recently decided to participate in a programme called 'Changemakers'.
As part of the project, the group decided their aim would be to fundraise for a chosen charity. Young adult carer, Chloe, suggested fundraising for Carers First, a charity Chloe is personally supported by.
Chloe said: "At first no-one knew who Carers First was and what they do, so as someone recieving their support I explained some of the importance of the work Carers First do and their impact on unpaid carers across the UK."
After discussing Carers First and what we offer to carers, the group came to agreement and decided that Carers First would be their chosen charity for fundraising in their project. The group spent two weeks planning festive sessions, running fun activities like craft sessions, a quiz night and tombola.
"As a group, we thought these events went really well and everyone was so supportive!" says Chloe.
The work Chloe and her group put into helping Carers First supports us in providing personalised information and tailored advice for carers, organising support groups, training sessions, providing benefits advice and more.
Carers First would like to thank Chloe and the rest of her group who raised over £100, as well as anyone who donated to help raise these funds for us.
