Carers First are celebrating Volunteers Week from 1 - 7 June.
Volunteers' Week is an annual campaign, a time to say thank you for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. Join Carers First this year to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our carers, through 1-2-1 support in telephone befriending and check-ins, organising events and support groups and more.
It goes without saying that volunteers have played a key role in the pandemic response. During an exceptionally difficult couple of years, people from all walks of life have taken the time to volunteer and make a huge difference to their communities – just as they do every year. This is a time for us to come together and thank all volunteers for their invaluable contribution.
Elaine's Volunteer Story
Elaine started volunteering with a Carers First group in her local town of Tiptree.
“Through volunteering with Carers First, I have been able to train as a Pilates instructor!”
Elaine is a Dental Nurse by profession. She had seen first-hand how hard life could be for carers and wanted to help. This prompted her to apply to be a volunteer with Carers First.
